Working with Chef Andrew Gruel, the creator and founder of the "Slapfish" restaurant franchise, Chrestensen Design was approached to develop a new ground up identity for the "Raw Bar," an eclectic yet upscale oyster bar. We examined the market position and created a comprehensive strategy + design package that fuses the brand message with the guest experience. Visitors are welcomed into a space that can best be described as a "modern oyster diner" featuring rotating specials of high quality seafood, an extensive selection of seasonal craft beer and champagne options in a high energy lounge-like environment not offered by any competitors. A subtle nautical theme is blended into the design without being overtly notable. Our team visioned and programmed the space, provided FF&E selections, developed graphics, signage, strategy, messaging and added value elements for optimum customer retention. We developed a storyline for the Raw Bar that will play a part in future "sister" restaurant concepts as the brand matures.
