Retained as a key design consultant through Mobius Design while working directly with Universal Studios Japan, Chrestensen Design helped bring to life an entire village filled with "Minion" experiences at this Osaka Japan setting. We developed the look and feel of this urbanesque street scene, developing architectural facades, varying signage gags, and elaborate window displays for the East and West paseo leading to the famed "Despicable Me" attraction. Every single detail for these elements were meticulously specified in an all-encompassing art package for production. Starting with the concept phase, driven by Mobius's storytelling effort in tandem with Chrestensen Design, the package evolved into a robust design development level guide which was used directly for production by the on-site fabrication team in Japan. Every corner and visible surface was enriched with content, including many hidden "easter eggs" not immediately visible to the audience at first glance. The end product is a vibrant home to the Minions, and one of the most sought out destinations for fans of this enduring franchise.
