Hired directly by Universal Studios Osaka, Chrestensen Design developed a complete visual storytelling solution for "The Flying Dinosaur." A feature attraction opening with the release of one of the highest grossing feature films in history, "Jurassic Park 3." We were approached to develop promotional ads, photo ops, environmental graphics, signage, uniforms, theming elements and more under a working partnership with Mobius Studio as lead. The experience starts when visitors enter the area and encounter the massive gateway portal. Surrounding machinery, props, and facility structures are branded with massive utilitarian graphics that evoke a sense of "danger" for guests. As guests make their way into the queue, they are immersed into the preloading zone and prepare for launch on a high speed thrill coaster. All details were examined and intentionally enhanced in a way that supports the messaging of the attraction. Even souvenir photo booths and vending machines were designed and authentically themed as "dinosaur-damaged" artifacts. Specific diagrams, notations and instructions were provided to the on-site fabrication team in order to make this attraction a success.
